Shandong University of Finance and Economics successfully held an international conference on green and low-carbon development and industrial upgrading

On September 15th, the "International Conference on Green and Low Carbon Development and Industrial Upgrading" held by Shandong University of Finance and Economics was successfully held. This conference revolved around themes such as addressing global climate change, low-carbon development, and industrial upgrading, inviting renowned experts and scholars from both domestic and foreign countries to deliver keynote speeches and engage in academic exchanges.

On the morning of the 15th, Principal Zhao Zhongxiu and Executive Director of the European Economic Research Institute Thomas Cole delivered opening speeches. Zhao Zhongxiu expressed gratitude to the guests who participated in this conference, welcomed the attending representatives, and introduced the development and achievements of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, as well as the significance of holding this conference. Zhao Zhongxiu pointed out that this international conference is the first academic activity for the 70th anniversary of the founding of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, which has gathered the wisdom of domestic and foreign experts and scholars. I hope that this conference can effectively promote exchanges among academia, industry, and the government, and can be held continuously, providing a source of high-level talents for Shandong Province and the entire China to achieve green and low-carbon development.

After the guest delivered their speech, the Dean of the European Economic Research Institute, Achim Wambach, Professor Xue Jinjun from Nagoya University in Japan, Professor Andreas Zetner from the University of Applied Science and Technology in Austria, Founder Zhang Zhongxiang from the Ma Yinchu School of Economics at Tianjin University, Professor Roust from Martin Luther Hallewettenberg University in Germany, and Associate Professor Wu Caixia from the School of International Business and Economics at Shandong University of Finance and Economics, Professor Bu Yuxi from Martin Luther Hallevitenberg University in Germany gave a speech. Participants discussed issues related to global climate change, low carbon development and industrial upgrading, and conducted in-depth discussions in areas such as European climate policy, green global value chain and carbon neutrality, the impact of global value chain upgrading on vocational education, and research on the synergistic effect of China's low carbon economic development.

On the afternoon of the 15th, a themed salon on "Green and low-carbon development and industrial upgrading" was held. Qi Ye, Dean of the School of Public Policy at the University of Science and Technology of Hong Kong, Andy Lu, Professor of Ruhr University in Germany, Ralph Vilsborn, Professor of Martin Luther Hallewettenberg University in Germany, Karsten Anger, former President of BMW China, Wang Ying, Associate Professor of the School of Finance at Shandong University of Finance and Economics, and participating teachers and students discussed industrial transformation and upgrading, virtual power plants, and green engines Sharing and exchanging hot topics such as the transformation of the automotive industry and the promotion of green innovation research through green credit policies, sparks of thinking have emerged.

This conference is jointly organized by the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Graduate School, China International Low Carbon College, and Qilu Enterprise Development Research Institute. More than 90 representatives from over 40 universities and enterprises, including the Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing Normal University, and the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, attended the conference.
